Gail J. Cyr was born on October 7, 1939 in Clyde, KS to Roy & Rozella (Couture) Cyr. He passed from this life on Wed., March 4, 2009 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS at the age of 69. Gail graduated from Clyde High School in 1957. He married Pauline Swihart on June 1, 1968 in Belleville, KS. Gail was a lifelong area farmer and resident. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and served as President of the Men's Auxiliary for VFW Post #7515, Clyde. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pauline Cyr, Clyde, KS; daughters, Claudelle Wedel & husband Dave, Lyons, KS, Terry Chartier & husband Brett, Ottawa, KS & Gail Wolf & husband Jess, Omaha, NE; sons, Charles Cyr & wife Denise, Clyde, KS & Todd Cyr & wife Faye, Clyde, KS; a brother, Jayson Cyr & wife Libby, Chicago, IL & 13 grandchildren. Gail was preceded in death by his parents & 2 grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday, March 9, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, KS with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-9 PM with a Rosary service at 7 PM, Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Clyde. The family suggests memorials to the Clyde Ambulance Fund or the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Fund.
