Gary Lynn Walton, age 78, of Concordia, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Salina Regional Medical Center, Salina, Kansas.  He was born on June 1, 1940 in Wayne, Kansas to Byron and Edna (Wood) Walton.

He attended Huron High School in Huron, SD.

Gary married Kathryn G. Voorhees on March 18, 1963 in Huron, SD.  They were happily married for over 56 years.

He was a past member of the Assembly of God Church in Belleville and currently attending the Concordia Wesleyan Church.

He enjoyed singing, playing his guitar, music, and was part multiple bands, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Gary is survived by his wife, Kathryn, Concordia; five children, Corina Letourneau (Robert), Aurora, KS.; Teresa Hernandez (Lorenzo), Graham, WA.; Naomi Stromberg, Concordia, KS.; Scott Walton (Amy), Mobile, AL.; Crystal Gilkeson (Jason), Concordia, KS.; sister, Tonia Stahl, Huron, SD.; brother, Dennis Walton, Clyde, KS.; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Edna.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with Rev. Corey Shipley officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Union Cemetery, Wayne, Kansas.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 1-5 pm with family greeting friends from 3-5- pm all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
