Geneva K. Nordquist was born March 16, 1944 in Concordia, Kansas, to Ray and Jearl Kennedy Thoman. She passed away on May 20, 2007 at Republic County Hospital at the age of 63. She graduated from Concordia High School. She married Robert E. Nordquist, Sr. on July 14, 1963 in the old United Methodist Church in Concordia, Kansas. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and American Legion Post #76 Auxiliary and was past president of the Auxiliary. She is survived by her children: Machelle Fisher of Concordia, KS; Shawna Wright and husband Shannan of Oxnard, CA; and Robert Nordquist, Jr. and companion Trish Phelan of Hoxie, KS. Six grandchildren: Jerod Fisher and companion Chelsea Ellis of Concordia, KS; Jenae Fisher of Emporia, KS; Kayla Nordquist of Hoxie, KS; Jesse Wright of Oxnard, CA; Travis Bourne of Hoxie, KS; and Jeremiah Phelan of Hoxie, KS; one great grandchild: Kyler Fisher of Concordia, KS; 5 brothers: Ted Thoman and wife Jean of Concordia, KS; Wilfred Thoman and wife Jane, Jamestown, KS; Austin Thoman and wife Beverly of Concordia, KS; Boyd Thoman and wife Linda of Concordia, KS; and Larry Thoman and wife Lori of Toolele, UT; 2 sisters: Shirley Davis, Concordia, KS; Mamie Aldridge, Concordia, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Nordquist, Sr. on September 29, 2005, her parents, 4 sisters: Jeniece Phelps, Phyllis Franks, Cleo Dykes, and Joyce Hanson; 6 Brothers: Wayne, Myron, Lloyd, Orland, and Bobby Thoman. Funeral services will be 10:00AM Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with the Rev. Sandra K. Moore. Visitation will be from 11AM to 9PM Tuesday at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, KS. Memorials may be given in honor of Geneva to American Legion Post #76 Youth Program.
