Gerald L. Newton, age 83, entered into rest on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at the Stormont Vail Health Care Center in Topeka, Kansas.  He was born June 4, 1936 in Cloud County, Kansas to Alonzo Wilferd and Adeline Marie (Breault) Newton.

On November 6, 1955 he married Lois May Sallman at the Concordia Lutheran Church.  She preceded him in death on January 22, 2017.

He worked for Martin Tractor Company in Topeka, Kansas as a mechanic.

He is survived by a son Raymond Newton, a daughter, Diana Edwards, all of Topeka; a daughter, Susan Barnard (Ronald), Parkville, MO.; a son, Steven Newton (Mary), Gardener, KS.; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, brothers, Dale Newton (Elaine), Don Newton, Gale Newton (Mary), Jim Newton, sisters, Shirley Andrews, Betty (D.A.) Hanson.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lois, parents, Alonzo and Adeline, 2 brothers, Rex and Larry Newton, infant sister, Lois Newton.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at a later time.  Private inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.
