Gerna M. Johnson, age 96, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. She was born March 24, 1920 in Belleville, Kansas to Howard and Blanche (Carpenter) Kelly.

She was a 1938 graduate of Belleville High School. On July 20, 1942 she married Floyd Johnson in Belleville, Kansas. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2007. They lived near or in Concordia all their married life. She was a homemaker and worked as a clerk at F.D Everett's Hardware for over 12 years. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church, Concordia. Gerna was involved in Girl Scouts as a leader for Troop #36 for many years. She and Floyd were charter members of the Drifting Clouds camping club.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Zoemisch (Michael), Red Bluff, CA; 2 sons, James Johnson (Shirley), Concordia; Richard Johnson (Pam), Tonkawa, OK.; Daughter-in-law, Donna Johnson, Dodge City; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Floyd, Jr.; granddaughter, Kelly Johnson; sister, Verna Kelley; brothers, Edward and infant twins.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., May 5, 2016 with family receiving friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Tessa Zehring officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.
