Gilbert G. Perret, age 91, died
Thurs., Sept. 19, 2013 at Heartland Haven, Inman, KS.
He was born on April 2, 1922 in St. Joseph,
KS to Jules & Agnes (Metro) Perret.
He attended schools in Aurora
& Clyde, KS.
He joined the US Army
in Nov. 1940 & served 5 years, with 2 years in the European Theater.
After returning home, he finished his
schooling at Concordia Catholic High School, graduating in 1947.
He attended St. Benedicts College before
going to work for Cloud Ceramics until his retirement in 1987.
He married Verona Collette on Nov. 28, 1950
in Concordia.
He was a member of American
Legion Post #76, VFW Post #588, Knights of Columbus & Our Lady of Perpetual
Help Catholic Church, where he served as a lector for many years.
He is survived by his wife,
Verona, Concordia; sons, Tom Perret & wife Judy, Concordia & Steve
Perret & wife Artis, McPherson; grandchildren, Stefanie Perret, Stacy
Johnson, Travis Perret, Trisha Simms & Raymond Perret & 9 great
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; daughter, Susan Perret; 2 brothers and a sister.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am, Tues, Sept. 24, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Rev. Brian Lager officiating. Burial will follow the services at St. Concordia Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588. Visitation will be held from 10 am to 9 pm with a Vigil service at 6:30 pm, Mon, Sept. 23, 2013 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church or Heartland Haven in care of the funeral home.
