Gladys M. Cote was born on January 31, 1927 in Ames, KS to Gilbert & Edna (Cyre) Tremblay. She passed from this life on Monday, Dec. 15, 2008 at Cheyenne Lodge Nursing Home, Jamestown, KS at the age of 81. Gladys married Abner P. Cote on July 27, 1943 at St. Joseph, KS. He preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1995. She was a nurses aid for over 40 years at St. Joseph Hospital & Nazareth Motherhouse. Gladys was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She is survived by her daughters, Jolene Emmel & husband Vic, Jr., Concordia, KS & Lori Kagle, Concordia, KS; sons, Loren Cote & wife Jolene, Concordia, KS & Leland Cote, Concordia, KS; a sister, Adeline Charbonneau, Concordia, KS; 7 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Abner; her parents and a brother, Gerald Tremblay. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Burial will follow the services at St. Concordia Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM with an Altar Society Rosary at 5 PM & Vigil services at 6:30 PM, Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Gladys Cote Memorial Fund.
