Obituary
Gladys A. Winsett, 90 years of age, of Concordia, passed away Friday, November 25, 2011 at Sunset Nursing Center in Concordia. She was born on November 24, 1921 in Ottawa County to George and Martha "Mattie" (Farrow) Whiles. Gladys married Robert K.Winsett on November 8, 1941 in Belleville. He preceded her on October 8, 1982. She later married Chester "Chet" A. Brumfield on April 14, 1990 in the Trinity United Methodist Church in Concordia. He preceded her on January 16, 2002. Gladys was an Owner/Operator of B&G Cleaners in Concordia with her husband Bob for many years. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, several church groups, Women of the Moose and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Gladys is survived by a son, Bob D. Winsett of Grandview, Missouri; daughter, Marsha Gerber and husband Joe of Belleville; 4 grandsons; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; daughter in law, Kay Winsett; and 2 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 30, 2011 in the Trinity United Methodist Church in Concordia with Pastor L. Dean Thompson officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2011 in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or the Church in care of the funeral home.
