Gloria A. Hamel, age 88, of Concordia, left this earthly life on Wed., April 21, 2021 at Mount Joseph Senior Village, Concordia.   She was born on Nov. 2, 1932 in Concordia, KS to Gedion & Martha C. (Wheeland) Hebert.

She attended Concordia schools.  She married Wilfred "Joe" Hamel on July 25, 1950 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia.  He preceded her on Feb. 2, 2014.  Joe & Gloria spent all of their married lives in Concordia.  She was a homemaker.  She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter, Janice Strait (John), Concordia; sons, Bob Hamel (Brenda), Osborne & Greg Hamel (Julie), Lawrence; daughter in law, Tammy Woelhoff, Marshfield, MO; grandchildren; Jennifer Faulkner (Dwight), Brian Strait (Chandra), Elizabeth Hamel, Joanna Thomas (Jake), Jerrica Baum (Steve), Ryan Hamel, Brianna Hamel (Lucas Allen), David Hamel (Cheryl), Amanda Stice (Mike), Karter Steinle, Halie Eck (Logan), Pam Hamel & Kelsey Hamel & 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents; sons, Lawrence 'Larry' & Jim Hamel; sisters, Martha 'Jed' Ullom, Eileen Brick & Maxine Hager; brothers, Lawrence & Bobby Hebert & daughter in law, Lynnette Hamel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am, Mon., April 26, 2021 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. David Metz officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Concordia Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sun., April 25, 2021 from 1-8 pm with a Vigil and Rosary at 6 pm all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Meadowlark Hospice or Mt.
