Gretchen Louise Nelson, 74 years of age, of Jamestown , passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at Mount Joseph Senior Village in Concordia. She was born on March 30, 1938 in Rural Kackley to Myron Charley and Mildred Julia (Bergsma) Kellogg. Gretchen married Roger Nelson on March 2, 1958 at the Jamestown United Methodist Church and celebrated their 55 ^th wedding anniversary this past Saturday on March 2, 2013. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1956. Gretchen was a proud housewife all her life although she worked 18 years at Funk Pharmacy. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. Gretchen was a member of the Jamestown United Methodist Church , United Methodist Women, Eastern Star, and was currently serving as President of Concordia TOPS.

Gretchen is survived by her husband, Roger; 3 sons, Marlan and wife Shari of Jamestown, Dennis and wife Mary of Salina, Dwight and wife Sandi Otipoby of Garnett; daughter, Karen Marie Stoneburgh of Lucas; 8 grandchildren, Matthew Nelson and wife Kaley Dunshie, Jennifer Gentry and husband Alex, Travis Stoneburgh, Brandie Stoneburgh, Christopher Nelson, Joshua Nelson, Amanda Nelson, Derrick Nelson; great grandson, Kyler Nelson; sister, Donna Davis of Haysville; brother, M. Charles Kellogg and wife Carolyn of Leawood; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother, Roger Eugene Kellogg.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, March 7, 2013 in the Jamestown United Methodist Church in Jamestown with Pastor Randy Whitley officiating. Interment will follow in the Jamestown Cemetery . Visitation will be held from noon to 9 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2013 with family greeting friends from 6 to 7:30 PM at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to the Jamestown United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
