Harry E. Brownell, age 74, passed from this earth on Wed., April 6, 2016 at Republic Co. Hospital, Belleville, KS. He was born on Jan. 4, 1942 in Concordia, KS to Arthur & Ernestine (Smith) Brownell.
He graduated from Concordia High School. He married Janice Miller on Nov. 25, 1961 at the First Presbyterian Church, Concordia. They have lived most of their lives in the Concordia area. They owned and operated Phillips 66 service station for 10 years and Brownell Automotive Machine Shop for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Janice; son, Larry (Kim), both of Concordia; daughter, Sondra Bergstrom (Jonathan), Clyde; brother, John (Alice), Mabank, TX; sisters, Nancy Green (Larry), Salina, Mary Rhoden (Allen), Fairbury, NE, Mabel Carlson (Robert), Abilene & Edna Brownell, Lincoln; sisters in law, Alexine Brownell, Clay Center & Elaine Brownell, Wamego; grandchildren, Lindsay Bergstrom, Nashville, TN, Shelby Newville (Kyle), Lacey Brownell & fiancé, Derek Champlin & Braden Brownell, all of Concordia; great grandchildren, Emma Bergstrom, Aurora, CO & Maddox & Elliott Newville, Concordia & special friend, Zoe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Keenan Bergstrom; brothers, Pete, Charlie & Frank Brownell & sister, Lois Brownell.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Sat., April 9, 2016 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. David Redmond officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be from 9 am to 9 pm with family greeting friends from 7-8 pm Fri., April 8, 2016 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
