Harry L. Forshee, 76 years of age, of Concordia, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Cloud County Health Center in Concordia. He was born on October 30, 1936 on a farm south of Concordia to Harry and Ellen (Nichols) Forshee. Harry married Shirley Havel on May 25, 1958 in Belleville. He worked as a mechanic where he owned his own shop for many years. Harry and Shirley were parents of 3 children, Michael David, Jo Ann, and Daniel Lee. Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time with his kids, grandkids and great grandkids, puzzles, sitting in his gazebo, the Chiefs, the Royals, KU, K-State, and Wichita State. He was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association.

Harry is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley; 2 sons, Michael, Daniel and wife Ricki, both of Concordia; a daughter, Jo of McPherson; 6 grandchildren, Matthew Forshee and wife Sarah of Manhattan, Geoff Forshee, Josh Forshee, both of Concordia, Rachel Schroeder and husband Phillip of Miller, Nebraska, Amanda Baxa and fiancé Phil Dyck of Marquette, Brian Forshee and wife Ashley of Concordia; 7 great grandchildren, Connor, Addison, and Cayden Forshee, Kaitlyn Forshee, Blake, Owen, and Joslyn Schroeder; a brother, Bill Forshee of Concordia; 5 sisters, LaVona Merry of Delphos, Neva Demanett of Concordia, Phyllis Larson, Audrey Elyea and husband Fred, both of Belleville, Norine Koester and husband Loren of Concordia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 6, 2013 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia with Rev. Anita Strommen officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 PM Sunday, May 5, 2013 with family greeting friends from 4 to 5:30 PM in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice in care of the funeral home. Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia is in charge of arrangements.
