Helen R. Kocher, age 85, died Sat., Sept. 20, 2014 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia. She was born in Beloit, KS to B.H. (Hallie) & Ruth (Dean) Bulthaup.

She graduated from Concordia High School and worked for Western Power as a clerk. She married George B. Kocher on March 4, 1951 at Concordia. He preceded her on April 17, 2006. She was a homemaker and farm wife for most of her life on their farm in rural Glasco. She was a member of the 1st UMC, United Methodist Women, both of Concordia. She served in various officer positions in P.E.O., she was a 4-H Leader, served on the Extension Council, EHU and enjoyed various card clubs.

She is survived by her son, Kurt Kocher (Cindy), Rural Glasco; daughter, Jill Halstead (Dennis), Rural Concordia; sister, Shirley McCollom (Bob), Concordia; 6 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; grandson, Scott Champlin; son in law, Tony Blochlinger; parents & brother, Gene Bulthaup.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wed., Sept. 24, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, Concordia with Rev. Tessa Zehring officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-9 pm with the family greeting from 7-8 pm, Tues. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church or the Cloud County Health Center Foundation in care of the funeral home.
