Helen J.
(Mog) St. Pierre
December 13, 1931 – October 1, 2013
Helen
Jean St. Pierre entered life eternal on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at the age of 81
in Newnan, GA.
Helen
was born on Dec. 13, 1931 in Mankato, KS. Her parents were the late Edward Mog
and Rose Bednasek Mog. She married Keith St. Pierre in 1955 at the Presbyterian
Church in Concordia, KS.
After
graduation from Mankato High, Helen went into Nurses training at the St. Joseph
Hospital in Concordia.
There she
received her RN and worked at the hospital before she married Keith. Surgical
Nursing was Helen's favorite specialty.
After marriage, Helen continued Nursing in
Southern Illinois and in the Chicago area.
After the birth of their two daughters, Helen became a Homemaker.
She loved her family, flowers and plants,
home decorating, cooking, entertaining, sewing, church work, caring for others,
school volunteering, pets, travel, music, and even worked as an Avon Sales
Associate. After Keith's retirement, they lived in Kerrville, TX for three
years and finally ended up in Peachtree City, GA so they could be closer to
family. There, Keith and Helen were members of Faith Lutheran Church in
Sharpsburg, GA.
The last four years,
Helen has resided in Newnan Health and Rehab in Newnan, GA.
Helen
is survived by her two daughters, Debra One (Darryl) from Modesto, CA and Anne
Tarbutton (Greg) from Vilas, NC.
Her
surviving grandchildren are Rebekah and Rachel One from Long Beach, CA and
Michelle Sandrock (Mark) from Atlanta, GA and Jeremiah Tarbutton from Houston,
TX.
Her surviving sisters are Norma
Bingham (Bill) and Connie Scheffer, both from Salina, KS.
Helen
was predeceased by her husband, Keith St. Pierre and brother, Willis Mog
(Nancy).
There
will be a viewing/visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.at Chaput-Buoy Funeral
Home in Concordia, KS on Friday, Oct. 11th. Family will welcome visitors from
12:30-2:30.
Graveside services will be
at 3:00 pm, Friday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Wendell Haubein
officiating.
Later, there will be a
memorial service and gratitude luncheon for staff at Newnan Health and Rehab in
Newnan, GA on Thursday, Oct. 24
th,
2013 at 11:00 a.m.
Much
gratitude is expressed to the staff at Newnan Health and Rehab for their
outstanding care for Helen the last four years.
In
closing, Helen's own words from a 1979 Christmas Letter:
"What
is Christmas?
For you we wish many good
things at Christmas.
The tenderness for
the past, courage for the present, and hope for the future.
That everyone overflows with blessings
rich.
Someone to care and share with you
Christ's birthday, the joy of making someone else happy who is less fortunate
than we and, best of all the deep love of finding anew the light that shines
from the humble manger is strong enough to brighten our way to the end of our
days."
