Helen Elva Talley was born on October 21, 1909 near Clyde, Kansas to James L. and Frances E. Pierce Lewis. She passed from this life on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Clay County Medical Center in Clay Center, Kansas at the age of 97.  She attended the Devils Bend and Bunten Country grade schools and graduated from Clifton High School in 1928. She was united in marriage to Howard "Bill" Talley on Nov. 20, 1930. They farmed west of Clifton until 1943 when they moved to Clyde.  He preceded her in death on April 13, 1964. She was a lifelong area resident and homemaker. She is survived by cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Services will be held on Monday, August 13, 2007 at 10:00 AM at Chaput Mortuary in Clyde, Kansas with Rev. Anita Strommen officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 6 PM Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde, Kansas. The family suggests memorials to the Clyde United Methodist Church.
