Irene Davis was born on August 29, 1921 in Bucklin, Kansas to William & Annis (Pinney) Mall. She passed from this life on Friday, March 27, 2009 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS at the age of 87. Irene graduated high school in Ft. Dodge, KS. She served in the US Army during WWII as a Lieutenant. Irene married Robert M. Davis on March 22, 1947 in Dodge City, KS. He preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1988. She and Robert came to Concordia in 1956, and moved to Arizona in 1966 until they returned to Concordia in 1976 when Robert became a partner in Johnston Supply. Irene worked at Johnston Supply with her husband and later at the ASCS office in Concordia as a surveyor. Irene was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, VFW Post #588 and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Barberio, Escondido, CA, Jean Hamel & husband John, Concordia, KS, Marilyn Howard & husband Rod, Jamestown, KS & Nancy Dow & husband James, San Diego, CA; a son, Robert D. Davis, Clarkdale, AZ; grandchildren, Theresa Johnson & husband Matt, Escondido, CA, Bryan Reinwald & wife Patricia, St. Joseph, MO, Aaron Reinwald & wife Melissa, Pittsburg, KS, Alex & Leni Howard, Jamestown, KS, Emily & Audrey Dow, San Diego, CA, Ian Davis & wife Nancy, Anchorage, Alaska, Sam Davis & wife Michelle, Gilbert, AZ & Jack & Joy Davis, Clarkdale, AZ & 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Davis; a granddaughter, Nicole Reinwald; brothers, George & Bill Mall & a sister, Francis Smith. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wed., April 1, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church, Concordia with Rev. Helen Moore Schroeder, Pastor David J. Redmond & Pastor Bob Burns officiating. Burial with Military Honors by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588 will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family receiving friends from 7-9 PM, Tues., March 31, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the First Presbyterian Church or the American Diabetes Assoc.
