Isadore E. Alexander was born on Nov. 16, 1919 in Aurora, KS to Joseph H. & Felicite Z. (Hebert) Alexander. He passed from this life on Thurs., Oct. 1, 2009 at Mt. Joseph Senior Community at the age of 89. Isadore enlisted in the US Marine Corp on July 12, 1941 and served for 6 years as a Tech Sergeant. He married Eva B. Charbonneau on Aug. 26, 1946 in Concordia, KS. His military service in WWII included service at the island of Iwo Jima. Isadore was recalled to active duty for 1 year during the Korean War Conflict. He attended school on the GI bill in Toledo, OH after his military service. Isadore was a meat cutter in Wichita & Kansas City, KS until his retirement in 1979 & was a member of The Meat Cutters Local Union #576, Kansas City, KS. Isadore was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church & a life member of the Knights of Columbus. He also was a life member of VFW Post #7774 in Wakefield, KS and later transferred to VFW Post #588, Concordia. He is survived by his wife: Eva Alexander, Concordia, KS; daughters: Carol DeLue & husband Jim, St. Louis, MO & Nancy Leicht & husband Tom, Jacksonville, FL; sons: Mike Alexander & wife Nancy, Raymore, MO, John Alexander, Concordia, KS & Tom Alexander & wife Debby, Salina, KS; sister: Roselie Fudge, Portland, OR; 13 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis E. Alexander; parents; 3 sisters & 5 brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday, Oct. 5, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-9 PM with a Vigil service at 6:30 PM Sun., Oct. 4, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588 will follow the services at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Aurora, KS. The family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
