Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" Ann Lewis, born November 1st, 1951 at Concordia on a beautiful crisp day.  Jackie passed into our Lord Jesus Christ's loving arms on February 24th, 2012 at her sister Janette Gelvin's home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Jackie's first year of life was difficult.  Mom slept sitting up, while holding Jackie in her arms, so Jackie could breathe.  As Jackie matured she never slowed down.  Jackie skipped learning to walk and enjoyed running everywhere.  She could climb anything especially the kitchen cabinets.

When Jackie was eight years old, she rode her pony named "Dusty."  She could ride her pony sitting or standing.  Mom and Dad decided she was too daring of a rider and the pony era was over.

Special Olympics was an exciting time for Jackie and mom in life.  Jackie show cased her talents that God gave her.  Jackie became quite the competitor and she won many gold medals in basketball throwing, cheerleading and especially in her favorite talent bowling.

Jackie and mom were inseparable.  They faced many of life's challenges and the two, together with God's guidance, conquered those challenges.  Jackie and mom were always on the Governors' list for inaugurations and they were always present for bowling with "Bea's Kids."

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Bea and Clyde Lewis.  Jackie is survived by her loving family of two sisters:  June Knox and her husband Ron of Edmond, Oklahoma; Janette Gelvin and, Dan Crowley of Pleasant Hill, Mo; five nieces and nephews: Janelle and her husband David Vignery of Harrisonville, Mo; Dr. John Gelvin and his wife Kim of Lee's Summit, Mo; Dr. Jill Yanchick and her husband Jeff; Christopher Knox and his wife Julie; Patrick Knox, all reside in Edmond, Oklahoma.  Jackie has surviving grand nieces and grand nephews: Kacie, Jay and EJ Gelvin; John Vignery and his wife Sarah, Katie Vignery; Brittany, Sarah and Karsten Yanchick.  All of Jackie's grand nieces and grand nephews lovingly enjoyed their Great Aunt Jackie's sense of humor and innocence.  Jackie is survived also by her Aunt Maxine Lewis Kelly and her husband Ross of Glasco, Kansas; Uncle Bill Lewis of McPherson, Kansas.  Jackie enjoyed her many precious gifts given to her from God the Father, especially her loving fellowship with her sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, neighbors and many wonderful "Special Friends" of a life time.

Jacqueline "Jackie" Ann Lewis will be missed.  Thank you Hospice.
