James "Jim" Johnson, age 64, passed away on Tues., May 31, 2016 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS. He was born on Sept. 23, 1951 in Concordia, KS to Floyd & Gerna (Kelly) Johnson, Sr.
He graduated from Concordia High School & served in the Army National Guard. Jim was a lifelong Concordia area resident. He married Shirley Johnson on Oct. 9, 1971 at the First United Methodist Church, Concordia. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church & Heartland Auto Club, Concordia. Jim worked for Cloud County in maintenance at the Cloud County Courthouse for over 25 years and helped his uncle, Bill Kelley farm in the local area.
Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley, Concordia; daughter, Stacy Mitchell (Rocky), Topeka; grandchildren, Rachelle & Cole, Topeka; brother, Richard Johnson (Pam), Tonkawa, OK; sister, Carolyn Zoemisch (Michael), Red Bluff, CA; sister in law, Donna Johnson, Dodge City & many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kelly Johnson & his older brother, Floyd Johnson, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Mon, June 6, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church, Concordia with Pastor Tessa Zehring officiating. Burial will follow at the Grace Hill Cemetery, Belleville. Visitation will be from 12-8 pm with the family greeting friends from 6-7 pm on Sun., June 5, 2016 at the funeral home.
