December 7, 1941 – July 17, 2013
James "Jim" E. Drury, 71
years of age, of Concordia, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Mount
Joseph Senior Village in Concordia. He was born on December 7, 1941 in Kansas
City. He graduated from St. Agnes Catholic High School in Kansas City in 1963. Jim
married Sharon "Sherry" Hake on April 26, 1980. Jim retired from BNSF Railroad
doing track maintenance. He loved all sports, especially basketball and was a
KU fanatic.
Jim is survived by 2
sons, Bill Drury and wife Amy, Rod Hake and wife Cindy; 4 grandchildren, Gracey
and Brady Drury, Rodney and Bradley Hake, all of Concordia; brother, Mike
Moore; sister, Vicki Ellis; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by his parents, Oscar and Josephine (Lindley) Moore; and his wife, Sharon
"Sherry" Drury on January 5, 2000.
The family will hold a
memorial service at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 20, 2013 at The Wesleyan Church in
Concordia with Rev. Bob Burns officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later
date in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia. There will be no viewing as
cremation has taken place but a register book will be available to sign from 9
AM to 5 PM Friday, July 19, 2013 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. Memorials
are suggested to the NCK Down Syndrome Society in care of the funeral home.
Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia is in charge of arrangements.
