James "Jim" LaBonte was born on April 15, 1946 in Concordia, KS to Romaine & Elizabeth (Peters) LaBonte. He passed from this life on Sunday, April 18, 2010 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, KS at the age of 64. Jim graduated from Aurora High School. He married Sherilyn Reed on July 15, 1967 in Concordia. She preceded him in death on Jan. 12, 2002. He later married Dianne (Demars) Thoman on Feb. 23, 2007. Jim worked in sales for PepsiCo, Rainbow Bread and in Texas managing a Family Dollar until retiring & returning to Kansas in 2002. Jim was a member of American Legion Post #76 and Moose Lodge #1428. He is survived by his wife: Dianne LaBonte, Aurora, KS; son: Shawn LaBonte & wife Dee Dee, Salina, KS; daughter: Mona Hernandez & husband John, Concordia, KS; step son: Marty Thoman & wife Beth, Leo, IN; step daughter: Nina Thoman-Adams, Concordia, KS; sister: Judy Jameson, Concordia, KS; brothers: Mike LaBonte & wife Karen, Lawrence, KS & Jerry LaBonte & wife Clarice, Rose Hill, KS; grandchildren: Darcie & K.C. LaBonte, Salina, KS, Gabby & Jeremy Hernandez, Concordia, KS; step grandchildren: Derek Adams, Concordia, KS & Lauren & Dillon Thoman, Leo, IN. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherilyn; parents & an infant brother, Terry LaBonte. Funeral services will be at 10 AM, Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM with family greeting friends from 6-8 PM, Wed., at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Aurora, KS. The family suggests memorials to the donors' choice.
