Obituary

James "Jim" Nobert was born on May 6, 1939 in Ames, Kansas to Armel P. & Susie Berger Nobert, Sr. He died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, Kansas surrounded by his loving family.  He attended District 1 grade school and graduated from Clyde High School in 1957. He married Margaret Tate on June 16, 1961 in St. Joseph, KS. She survives the home. He was a lifelong farmer/stockman in the Clyde area. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, American Legion & Clyde VFW. He was a former President of Republican Valley drainage district board and served as a board member for Federal Land Bank. He was the former owner & operator of Jim Nobert Fertilizer & J&M Mobil gas station. He also co-owned/operated the St. Joe Store. He is survived by his wife, Margaret of the home, a son; John Nobert of Clyde, KS, 3 daughters; Jeannine Branfort & Hus. Jason of Clyde, KS, Janelle Holen & Hus. Doug of Manhattan, KS and Jacqueline Smith & Hus. Kevin of Concordia, KS, 2 sisters; Geraldine "Gerri" Holscher & Hus. Floyd of Salina, KS & Teresa Feight & Hus. Gene of Clyde, KS, 2 Brothers; Damian Nobert & wife Fedora & Larry Nobert & wife Linda, both of Concordia, KS, Grandchildren; Dylan Nobert of Park City, KS, Jordan, Jareb & Jayda Branfort all of Clyde, KS, Tyler & Tanner Holen of Manhattan, KS and Shala Smith of Concordia, KS, 3 Brothers in law; Donnie Tate of Concordia, KS, Thad Tate & wife Mary of Linn, KS & Basil Tate & wife Connie of Clyde, KS, 6 Sisters in law; Michelle Brooks & Hus. Del of Manhattan, KS, Johnita Crawford & Hus. Mike of Clyde, KS, Jane Couture & Hus. Carroll of Belleville, KS, Loretta Koch & Hus. Dean of Clyde, KS, Madeline Lambert & Hus. Harold of Clyde, KS & Patricia "Polly" Silinskas & Hus. Ron of Pittsburg, PA and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters; Helen Morgan, Bernadette Anderson & Marie Nobert, Brothers; Dick & Armel P. Nobert, Jr & 2 infant brothers Joe & Frank Nobert. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 23, 2007 at 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde, KS. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Clyde. Visitation will from 1 to 6 PM Wed., March 21, 2007 & from 9 AM to 5 PM Thurs., March 22, 2007 at Chaput Mortuary and then after 6 PM Thurs. at the church. A Parish Rosary will be held at 4 PM Thurs. at Chaput Mortuary and Vigil services at 7 PM Thurs. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Clyde Ball Association or the Mount Calvary Cemetery Fund.
