Letourneau

Jerome E. Letourneau, age 76, died Thurs., Dec. 25, 2014 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS. He was born on Nov. 7, 1938 in Concordia, KS to William "Wig" & Eda (Collette) Letourneau.
Jerome graduated from Aurora High School, St. Benedict's College, Atchison and received his Master's degree in Administration from Central Missouri State University. Jerome taught & coached, football & basketball at Lillis High School in KC, Missouri, where he won a State basketball title before returning to Concordia in 1968 where he served as the Dean of Student Services, which included Financial aid, Housing, Athletics, Bookstore & Student Advisory at Cloud County Community College until his retirement in 2000. Jerome was instrumental in the building of campus housing and dorms for Cloud County Community College and was proud of the accomplishments made at Cloud County. He also farmed in the Aurora area until his death. He married Patricia Brunell on June 6, 1959 and she preceded him on Sept. 14, 1977. He married Norlene Bulleigh on Aug. 11, 1978. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, where he was an active participant in Adoration and his faith. He also was a former member of the Notre Dame Catholic High School Board. Jerome served on the Cloud Co. Resource Council Board and was especially proud of his serving as a 'Bell' ringer for the Resource Council and he would often dress up as Santa. Jerome was active in his children and grandchildren's sports & activities, coaching baseball, basketball, football and always lending coaching advice.
He is survived by his wife, Norlene, Concordia; daughters, Sandy Cote (Mark) & Maria Blochlinger, Concordia; sons, David Letourneau (Kim), The Colony, TX, Johnny Letourneau (Rebecca), Grapevine, TX & Jacob Letourneau (Karla), Eudora; 9 grandchildren & 1 great grandchild.
He was preceded by his wife, Patricia; parents; brother, Lloyd & grandsons, Evan Cote & Gabriel Letourneau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Mon, Dec. 29, 2014 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Rev. Brian Lager & Rev. Dan Letourneau officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Aurora. Visitation will be from 12-8 pm with a Vigil service at 6:30 pm, Sun, Dec. 28 all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Cloud County Community College Foundation for Scholarships in care of the funeral home.
