Jerry Bryant Burks, 80 years of age, formerly of Guntersville, Alabama passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, Kansas. He was born on June 8, 1945, in Grant, Alabama to Joe Wheeler and Elsie (Jones) Burks.

Jerry attended school in Grant, AL at Katie Duncan Smith DAR school before joining the Air Force at the age of 17.

After leaving service, he went on to have a long career spanning more than 40 years as an electrical and mechanical technician, working primarly in industrial manufactoring.

Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family, working with his hands repairing cars as well as computers and bantering with anyone who would sit still long enough to entertain him.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Nikki (Charlie) Hamilton of Clyde, KS; his granddaughters, Lorelei Hamilton and Victoria Hamilton, brothers and sisters, Harold Burks, Larry (Sara Jo) Burks, Terry (Rhonda Sue) Burks, Jane Burks, Brenda Burks, Sandra (Edward) Johnson, and Cheryl (Johnny) Smith as well as many nieces and nephews.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Wheeler and Elsie, his sister, Sue Burks and his brothers, Joe Glenn Burks , John Burks, and Will Burks.Please join Jerry's family at Grant Memorial Chapel in Grant, AL on Thursday, September 18, from 1 pm to 3 pm for visitation. The

Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Free Home Church Cemetery, Grant, Alabama. All are welcome.
