Jim Lanoue, Sr. was born on October 11, 1921 to Dona and Gretchen Hill Lanoue in Concordia, KS.  He passed from this life on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS at the age of 86.  H e married Alberta L. Strait on July 11, 1941 at Mankato, KS. She preceded him in death on April 21, 1994. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was a truck driver for Boogaart's Grocery for 25 years. He then worked for Cloud County as a heavy equipment operator and later at the Cloud Co. Transfer Station, not really retiring until March of this year. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #76 and Moose Lodge #1428. He was a former member of VFW Post #588.  He is survived by his daughter: Bonnie Bray and husband Kenny, Concordia, KS; a son: James Lanoue, Jr. and wife Ann, Concordia, KS; a brother: Gerald Lanoue and wife Shirley, Concordia, KS; a sister: Dorothy Cyphers, Concordia, KS 5 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife-Alberta; brothers-Howard & Gene Lanoue;  and sisters-Delores Schleuder and Aretta Harris.  Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Burns officiating.  Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia with Military Honors by American Legion Post #76 and VFW Post #588.  Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 9 PM Mon, Sept. 22, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.  The family suggests memorials to the KSU Center for Basic Cancer Research.
