John "J.P." F. Peltier was born on Sept. 5, 1949 in Concordia, KS to William A. & Frances L. (Vering) Peltier. He passed from this life on Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010 in Jamestown, Kansas. John graduated from Notre Dame High School in Concordia in 1967. He then graduated from Cloud County Community College. After college, he served in the US Navy from 1969-71. John worked as a conductor for the Missouri Pacific Railroad until becoming disabled from a railroad accident. He later worked for Bud Jensen in construction & also Peltier Foundry. John was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, American Legion Post #76 & Moose Lodge #1428. John was a friend to everyone he knew. John is survived by his sons: Joshua Peltier & wife Tonya, Concordia, KS & Ryan Peltier, Concordia, KS; sister: Stella Wessel, Effingham & husband Leander, KS; brothers: Joseph Peltier, Concordia, KS & Vincent Peltier & wife Johanna, Ann Arbor, MI & grandchildren: Taylynn, Tison & Trent Peltier, Concordia, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents & grandparents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Friday, Aug. 13, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Visitation will be held from 12-9 PM with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM, Thurs., Aug. 12, 2010 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Jamestown, KS with Military Honors by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588. The family suggests memorials to the John F. Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
