Joseph N. Peltier, 73 years of age, of Concordia , Kansas passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at Sunset Nursing Center in Concordia. He was born in Concordia on December 25, 1937 to William and Frances (Vering) Peltier. He worked as a painter for Peltier Foundry, also as a laborer on the family farm and then later as an employee for Wal-Mart in Concordia for over 5 years. He was a resident at Sunset Nursing Center since 2003. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and Moose Lodge #1428.

Joseph is survived by a sister, Stella Wessel and husband Leander of Effingham; a brother, Vincent Peltier and wife Johanna of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and 7 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, John Peltier.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 21, 2011 in the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Jamestown . Visitation will be held from noon to 8 PM Sunday, March 20, 2011 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia. A rosary will be recited at 5 PM Sunday at the funeral home with family greeting friends following the rosary until 7 PM. A memorial has been established to Sunset Nursing Center or the church with the funeral home in charge.
