Obituary

Josephine "Doe" M. Seifert, age 93, died Tues., March 17, 2015 at Park Villa Nursing Home, Clyde, KS. She was born in Rural Clyde, KS on April 13, 1921 to Phillip T. & Marie D. (L'Ecuyer) Nault.

She graduated from Clyde High School in 1938. She married Andrew "Andy" F. Seifert, Jr. on April 21, 1941 in Clyde, KS and they were married for over 72 years until he preceded her on January 25, 2014. She worked as a telephone operator for a short time after high school until her marriage. She was a homemaker most of her life until she joined Andy and they operated Seifert Jewelry in Clyde together for several years. She retired from the store in 1982, shortly after her son, Allan purchased the business. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church & the Catholic Daughters of America, Clyde Area Foundation & the '51' Bridge Club, where she was an avid bridge player for over 50 years. She was passionate about refinishing antique furniture and refinished several pieces over the years. She was always busy canning Andy's garden harvests each year, but enjoyed the flowers from the garden more than the produce.

She is survived by her son, Dr. David Seifert & wife Shirl, Sedona, AZ; daughters, Jolene Moore & husband Don, Hays & Lori Adkins & husband Nick, Clifton; daughter in law, Ellen Seifert, Clyde; sister in law, Helen Nault, Concordia; grandchildren, Michael Seifert, Chereé Netherton, Chad Seifert, Andrea Stovall, Vincent Seifert, Scott Seifert, Leslie Olmstead, Aimee Brisco, Kylie Jefferis, Alison McNeil & Sadie Pruser; 28 great grandchildren & a host of additional family, friends, community members and customers.

She was preceded by her husband, Andy; her parents; son, Allan; sisters, Katherine Kennedy, Ruth Chaplin, Cleola "Chi" Donnelly, Julie Shufelt & Theresa Balthazor & brothers, Glenn & Quentin Nault.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday, March 20, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Clyde. Visitation will be from 12 to 8 pm with a Rosary at 6 pm on Thurs., March 19, 2015 with family greeting friends from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, all at Chaput Mortuary. The family suggests memorials to Park Villa Nursing Home or Mt. Calvary Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
