Josephine M. Wiesner, age 91, of Concordia, KS, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, November 17, 2022 , at Belleville Health Care Center, Belleville, KS.

She was born on March 27, 1931 , in Hays, KS to John P. & Josephine C. (Orth) Pfeifer. She graduated from Girls Catholic High School, Hays, KS on May 24, 1948 , and married Marvin R. Wiesner on August 10, 1948 . They built a home and farmed in Ogallah, KS and moved to Ellis in 1962, to Salina in 1965, now with eight children, and then to Concordia in the fall of 1967.

She was an affectionate loving mother and grandmother. Always of strong Catholic faith, she was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and a Eucharistic Minister. She served her community as a longtime Red Cross Blood Donor Coordinator (Volunteer of the Year Award for Central Plains Blood Services Region) and a Hospice Volunteer. She managed the Shaklee Health Supplement Retail Store and later worked as a bookkeeper for the Cloud County Co-Op Elevator until she retired in December 1994.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and their children: Ellen L Wiesner, Ruth A Hillman and Gregory J Wiesner; brothers, Albert and Walter Pfeifer and a sister, Alice Eichelberger.

Josephine is survived by her children, Virginia M "Jean" Bachand (Lonnie), Concordia, KS, Robert J "Bob" Wiesner (Dawn), Dallas, TX, Gerald D "Jerry" Wiesner (Joan), Concordia, KS, Brian F Wiesner (Linda), Oviedo, FL and Blanche M "Annie" Bergmann (Dennis), Concordia, KS; sister, Frances Southard, Wichita, KS; son in law, Michael D Hillman, Ft. Worth, TX; daughter in law, Kimberely S "Kim" Wiesner, Concordia, KS; 20 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 73 nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 26, 2022 , at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Fr. David Metz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be on Friday, November 25, 2022 , from 1-8 pm with a Rosary at 6 pm , all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
