Obituary

Joyce “Nin” Louise Jasper was born Joyce Louise Lambert on October 27, 1958, in Wichita Kansas. She was the daughter of Gloria and Raymond Lambert. She attended school in Concordia, Kansas and was a graduate of Concordia High School in 1976. After high school she attended the Academy of Hair Design in Salina, Kansas. She was employed by Barbara Workman’s Beauty Shop until she went to work at Pawnee Mental Health, first as a secretary and later as the office manager for six counties. She worked for 38 years with Pawnee Mental Health and retired from that agency in 2018, at age 60. 

She married John Fellows on November 20th, 1980. One daughter was born to this union, Amber Renee Fellows. They later divorced. She married Jerry Jasper on March 31, 1989, in Concordia, Kansas. He proceeds her in death. Upon retirement, Joyce moved to McPherson, Kansas to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. 

She is survived by her daughter, Amber Lindberg and son-in-law, Charles Lindberg, McPherson; Grandchildren Monica Halaquist (Jordan) and their children Brody, Kaiden, Xavier, and a new great-grandson due in October, McPherson, Torin Fellows (Brooklin) and his daughter Lainey of Salina, Abby Valeka of McPherson, Parker Lindberg, and Noah Lindberg, both of McPherson. Siblings Mary Canfield of Texas, Michael Lambert (Hoberta), Terry Lambert (Robin), Donna Huber (Doug), David Canfield, and Kimberly Lester (Dennis), all of Concordia.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Jerry Jasper, parents, (father) Raymond Lambert, (mother) Gloria Canfield, and (stepfather) David Canfield.

Joyce enjoyed refinishing furniture, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She loved to travel with her daughter and her grandchildren on family vacations and was able to explore many different places across the world. She especially enjoyed girls’ days with Amber and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and was a licensed cosmetologist.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas. Memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice and can be sent in care of Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, P.O. Box 606, Concordia, KS 66901.

Joyce's wishes were to be cremated and to have a private family service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas.
