Joyce Williams, age 82, passed away on October 15, 2014 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina. She was born on December 7, 1931 in Beloit, KS to Erich & Gwendolyn Amspacker Henning.

Joyce was the oldest of three children. She graduated from Glasco High School in 1949. She was a graduate of Brown-Mackie School of Business in Salina. Joyce was then employed by Western Power in Concordia and later by Zajic International Harvester Company in Glasco. She married Dean Williams on May 20, 1951 at the Lutheran Church in Glasco. In December 1953 they moved to Hammond, Illinois, as the pipeline company Dean worked for transferred him to a new station site there, where they lived in a company house. While living there, two children were born, Jody Lynn in December 1953 and Randy Dean in October 1955. In May of 1956 the family moved to Concordia. While living there they built a new home just South of Concordia and lived there for nearly40 years until they sold the farm and moved into Concordia. Joyce was an excellent homemaker and her first concern was her family. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to several bridge & pitch clubs.

She is survived by her husband Dean Williams of the home; daughter, Jody (Alex) Sanchez, Salina; son, Randy (Deb) Williams, Valley Center; brother, Larry (Janet) Henning, Topeka; sister, Betty (Jim) Wild, Manhattan; grandchildren, Matt (Leighana) Williams, Mike Williams & Greg (Jana) Sanchez; great grandchildren, Katie, Jackson, Jacob & Joseph Sanchez.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Sat., Oct. 18, 2014 at Concordia Lutheran Church with Rev. David Strommen officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at the Glasco Cemetery, Glasco. Visitation will be from 1-9 pm with the family greeting from 6-8 pm, Fri. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Concordia Lutheran Church or the Brown Grand Theatre in care of the funeral home.
