Juanita M. Walters was born on Aug. 6, 1920 in Concordia, KS to Clifford H. and Flora J. Kindel Houtz. She passed from this life on Wed., Oct. 22, 2008 at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln, NE at the age of 88. She graduated from Concordia High School. She worked as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone in Concordia until she and her family moved to Lincoln, NE in 1961 and has been a resident since. She worked for the National Bank of Commerce and Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, NE until retiring completely in 2003. She belonged to a reading group and enjoyed playing bridge. She is survived by her daughter: Cinda Walters, Lincoln, NE; her grandchildren: Edward J. Akeson, Cheyenne, WY & Gregory K. Akeson, Ft. Collins, CO. She was preceded in death by her son, Edward C. Walters and her parents. Private family graveside services will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Concordia, KS. The family suggests memorials to Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia.
