Judy Nelson was born on July 25, 1949 in Ft. Worth, TX to Ed & Dorothy (Orr) Altman. She passed from this life at her residence in Jamestown, KS at the age of 61. Judy grew up in the Ft. Worth, TX area. Judy was a homemaker/housewife & also worked in the banking industry for 25 years. Judy married Kenny Nelson on April 30, 2010 in Byron, NE. Judy dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She especially loved spending time with her two granddaughters. Judy is survived by her husband: Kenny Nelson, Jamestown, KS; daughter: Shelly Lugo & husband Nathan, Ardmore, OK; son: Luke Ryals & wife LeeAnn, Mannsville, OK; brother: Robert "Bud" Altman & wife Jerri, Palestine, TX; sisters: Marty Burns & husband Chris, Adrian, TX & Edwina Batten, Richmond, VA; grandchildren: Sydney Batson, Ardmore, OK & Paisley Ryals, Mannsville, OK; step sons: Jeff Nelson & wife Nicole, Concordia, KS & Corey Nelson & Krystal Mosher, Courtland, KS; step daughters: Julie Crowley & husband James, Beloit, KS & Crystal Lieb & husband Trevor, Courtland, KS & 6 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Wed., Oct. 6, 2010 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. Daryl E. Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM with the family greeting friends from 7-9 PM, Tues. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at the Danish Lutheran Cemetery, Jamestown, KS. The family suggests memorials to the Judy Nelson Memorial to be designated later.
