June F. Jackson passed away Thurs., April 18, 2013 at the age of 87 at Mt. Joseph Senior Village, Concordia. June was born on Dec. 14, 1925 in Rural Republic Co., KS to Edward D. & Minnie M. (Forney) Vanek.

She graduated from Concordia High School in 1943. She married Billie Lee Jackson on Jan. 21, 1945 at the Concordia First United Methodist Church. To this union they had two sons, Dennis & Larry. June retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone as an operator. She was a member of the retired Telephone Pioneer Women, Home Extension Unit & Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, sewing, cooking and loved to entertain family & friends. She was a wonderful and caring wife, mother and a good friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Billie Lee; sons, Dennis & wife Peggy & Larry & wife Kelly; grandson, Brett Jackson & step grandchild, Caitlin Allen all of Concordia. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10 am Tues, April 23, 2013 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. Dean R. Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 am to 9 pm, Monday at the funeral home with family greeting friends from 6:30-7:30 pm. The family suggests memorials to Meadowlark Hospice in care of the funeral home.
