Karl Michael "Mike" Chaput, age 66, Salina resident, died Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas. He was born on July 20, 1950 in El Paso, Texas to Eugene A. and Jane Lee (Fetter) Chaput.
He married Cheryl L. Addington on October 11, 1986 in Lead, South Dakota and they had just recently celebrated their 30
th
Anniversary.
He was a Funeral Director and owner of Chaput Funeral Home in Lead and Deadwood, South Dakota area. He was also an owner/operator of Deadwood Thymes Café Bistro until moving to Salina where he served as Chef for the Salina Country Club.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl of Salina; 2 children, Michael Chaput, Jr. (Jamie) of New Jersey and Wendy Addington, Spearfish, South Dakota; 3 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of a Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tues., November 1, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde with Rev. Steven Heina officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clyde.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde.
The family suggests memorials to the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery Fund in care of the funeral home.
