Kayla Marie Cyr was born on May 2, 1991 in Chanute, KS to Charles & Denise (Kearn) Cyr. She passed from this life on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Ellsworth, KS at the age of 19. Kayla graduated from Clifton Clyde High School in 2009. She attended Hutchinson Community College and Barton Community College this past year, majoring in Elementary Education. During high school, Kayla worked at the Concordia After School Program, Concordia, KS. She also enjoyed cheerleading & was a member of FBLA, where she served as a District Vice President. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde. She is survived by her parents: Charles & Denise Cyr, Clyde, KS; sister: Laci Cyr, Clyde, KS; brother: Michael Cyr, Clyde, KS; boyfriend: Kaleb Stefek, Holyrood, KS & grandparents: Dennis & Diane Kearn, Concordia, KS. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gail & Pauline Cyr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Wed., June 30, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde with Rev. Larry Letourneau officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-5 PM & after 6 PM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with a Rosary service at 7 PM, Tues, June 29, 2010, Clyde, KS. Burial will follow the services at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Clyde. The family suggests memorials to the Guardians of the St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Clifton-Clyde Teacher's Assoc. Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
