Legouri A. Bombardier was born on May 22, 1923 in Jamestown, KS to Leo V. & Alma R. (Chaput) Bombardier. He passed from this life on Wed., Dec. 15, 2010 at the Mitchell Co. Hospital, Beloit, KS at the age of 87. Legouri graduated from Jamestown High School. He served in the US Army Air Corp. from 1943-1946. Legouri married Betty L. Cross on Aug. 13, 1947 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, KS. He worked in Jamestown at the Co-Op Elevator before going to work for Western Power for 24 years. After his retirement from the electric company, he then worked for Cloud County Community College in security for 12 years. He was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Jamestown and a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia. He is survived by his wife: Betty Bombardier, Jamestown, KS; daughters: Trudy Collins & husband Terry, Beloit, KS & Michelle Dunn & husband Mike, Chicago, IL; sons: Chris Bombardier & wife Joan, Paducah, KY, Tim Bombardier & wife Marsha, Concordia, KS, Tom Bombardier & wife Martha, Smith Center, KS & Nick Bombardier & wife Karen, Wichita, KS; brother: Isadore "Izzy" Bombardier & wife Ruth, Concordia, KS; 19 grandchildren & 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. A memorial Mass service will be held at 10 AM, Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. The family choose cremation and friends may sign the register book from 9 AM to 9 PM with a vigil services at 6:30 PM, Thurs., Dec. 16, 2010 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial of the cremains with military honors by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588 will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Jamestown, KS. The family suggests memorials to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church or the Sisters of St. Joseph in care of the funeral home.
