Leo Boutz was born on Oct. 13, 1929 in Jennings, KS to Albert & Theresa (Walkemeyer) Boutz. He passed from this life on Wed., Feb. 11, 2009 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS at the age of 79. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict where he was wounded. He worked for Elmo St. Pierre as a farm hand from 1959 until 1995. He married Arlene McElhiney on March 24, 1981. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Boutz, Concordia, KS; a son, Fred Boutz & wife Judy, Parkville, MO; a daughter, Wida Egan, Manhattan, KS; step-daughter, Nancy French, Denver, CO; step-sons, Earl French, N. Little Rock, AR & Thomas French, Denver, CO; sisters, Doreen Course, Salina, KS; Freda Morgan, Oskaloosa, KS, Francis Mosier, Norton, KS & Flora Edwards, WA; brothers, Darrel Boutz, Zeandale, KS, Everett Boutz, Jefferson City, MO, Glen Boutz, Mulvane, KS & Homer Boutz, Colorado Springs, CO 7 grandchildren; 3 step Grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren & 3 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters & 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, Feb. 16, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, Concordia with Rev. Sandra K. Moore officiating. Visitation will be held from 2-8 PM with the family receiving friends from 6-7 PM, Sun., Feb. 15, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will military honors by VFW Post #588 & American Legion Post #76 will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. The family suggests memorials to the D.A.V. or the Topeka V.A. Medical Center.
