Leonard E. Marcotte was born on Nov. 6, 1919 in Aurora, KS to Alfred & Mary Ann Poulin Marcotte. He died on Friday, March 2, 2007 at Mount Joseph Senior Community in Concordia, KS. He married Mary Ruth LaBarge on Feb. 14, 1950 at Concordia, KS. She preceded him in death on July 29, 1974. He married Helen Anderson on Sept. 15, 1982 at Concordia, KS. She survives the home. He was a lifelong area resident. He served in the US Army during WWII in the infantry from 1942-1945. He was an area farmer, maintenance man at Cloud County Community College and worked for the Cloud Co. Highway Dept. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Aurora, KS and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia, KS. He was a member of VFW Post #588, American Legion Post #76 and Moose Lodge #1428 all of Concordia. He is survived by his wife Helen of the home; sons; Bruce Marcotte & wife Lora, Danny Marcotte & companion Julie all of Aurora, KS, Craig Marcotte & wife Diane of Beloit, KS, Gerald Marcotte & wife Maria of Salina, KS; daughter, Judy Ogorzolka & Hus. Dennis of Abilene, KS; sisters, Dora Mae Graham, Laura Alkire & Hus. Herbert all of Salina, KS; 24 grandchildren & 10 great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Aurora, KS with interment in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Aurora with military honors by American Legion Post # 76 & VFW Post #588. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM Monday, March 5, 2007 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7 PM Monday, also at the funeral home. The family has designated memorials to either Meadowlark Hospice or the Alzheimer's Assoc.
