Obituary
Leonard Francis Reedy, age 79, died Friday, June 12, 2015 at his home in Rural Concordia, Kansas. He was born on Dec. 29, 1935 on his parents' farm in Washington Co., Kansas to Francis J. & Agnes Mary (Nutsch) Reedy.
He graduated from Mahaska High School in 1953. He married Judy Mahon on April 19, 1958 and they were blessed with 57 years together. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia where he served as a Eucharistic minister and taught CCD classes, he joined the Knights of Columbus in 1955 and was a lifetime member. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1428. Leonard was a founding member of American Agriculture Movement and made several trips to Washington, DC supporting the movement. He was a charter member of the Concordia Optimist Club. Leonard was a lifetime area farmer and rancher, his family, farm and cattle were his joy and he thoroughly enjoyed all his years on the farm.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Janet Droge, Topeka; sons, Robert, Wichita, Steve, Plano, TX, Joseph (Karen), James (Connie) & Dennis (Donna) all of Concordia; sister, Bernadette L'Ecuyer, Washington; 10 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clifford & sister, Phyllis James.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Wed., June 17, 2015 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Lager officiating. Burial will follow at St. Concordia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM with family greeting friends after the Vigil service at 6 PM on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
