Leroy Clifford "Cliff" Knox was born on February 13, 1933 in Clyde, KS to Wilbur C. & Gertrude (Vautravers) Knox. He passed from this life on Monday, May 3, 2010 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS at the age of 77. He attended Clyde grade school and graduated from Clyde High School in 1951. He married Betty Bottger on Jan. 15, 1951 in Clyde, KS. Cliff worked for Northern Natural Gas for several years before moving to Florida for 4 years as a foreman for an underground utilities company in Ft. Lauderdale. They returned to Kansas in 1961 to farm and has been an area farmer since. Cliff was a member of the Clyde Christian Church where he served on the church board and as a deacon. He is survived by his wife: Betty Knox, Agenda, KS; daughter: Susan Williams & husband Robert, Belleville, KS; sons: Michael Knox & Sandy, Clifton, KS, Pat Knox & wife Deb, Clyde, KS, Jim Knox & wife Deanna, Holden, MO & Jeff Knox, Agenda, KS; half brother: Mike Knox & wife Bonnie, Lake Placid, FL; half sisters: Karen Chamber & Auty Knox; step brother: Gary Knox; 9 grandchildren & 22 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents & daughter in law, Brenda Knox. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Wed., May 5, 2010 at the Clyde Christian Church with Rev. Fred Applegarth officiating. Visitation will be held from 12-8 PM with the family greeting friends from 7-8 PM, Tuesday at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde. Burial will follow the services at the Agenda Cemetery, Agenda, KS. The family suggests memorials to the Clyde Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
