Lila Cleveland, long-time farm wife and resident of Cloud County, died July 2 at Mount Joseph Senior Village . She was 87 years of age.

Lila was born February 8, 1927 in Morganville KS to Willard and Edna (Roy) Pelland.  She graduated from Clyde High School in 1944 and married Ronald Lambert in 1947.  Ronald passed away in 1954.  She married Norman Cleveland on August 6, 1959 and she and Norman were partners on their farm in Cloud County for more than 50 years.

Lila was devoted to her family.  She was a long-time 4-H leader and belonged to a Clyde pitch group for 40+ years.  She and Norman were active in square dancing and traveled throughout the Midwest to attend dances.  She belonged to the Red Hat Society and enjoyed cooking, travel, and spending time with family and friends.

Lila is survived by her husband, Norman Cleveland and four children:  Don Lambert of Kansas City MO, Michael Cleveland and wife Cindy of Salina KS, Diann Spencer and partner Tom Everitt of Kansas City MO, and Jerry Cleveland and special friend Deb Swisher of New Cambria KS.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Janet Lambert; an infant great grandson, Benjamin Cleveland; and brother, Milford Pelland.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 7, 2014 in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia with Rev. Jeff Nielsen officiating. Interment will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery east of Concordia. Visitation will be held from 1- 8 PM Sunday, July 6, 2014 with family greeting friends from 6 – 7 PM in the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home in Concordia.
