Obituary

Lois Ruth Hayden Andersen, age 61 of Jamestown, KS, went Home to the Father on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE.  Lois was born on Dec. 23, 1949 in Concordia, KS to Todd & Dora (Ostrom) Hayden.  She married Norris R. Andersen on Dec. 30, 1966 and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1967.  Norris and Lois spent their early years of marriage in California, while Norris served in the USAF.  In 1970, they returned to Kansas and started their family, and to this union were born two daughters. Lois & Norris enjoyed every minute they had together, going on many adventures and participating in racing events.

Lois was ill for a number of years and received a liver transplant on Dec. 5, 1990 and then shortly after began selling real estate in Concordia.  Lois was a member of The Baptist Church, Concordia.  Lois always tried to live life to its fullest and loved every minute God gave her to enjoy her family, especially her grandchildren and her cat.

Lois is survived by her husband of 44 years, Norris.  Her daughters, Shea and husband, Howard McMillan, Concordia and Gwen and husband, Greg Hill, Topeka.  Four grandchildren, Macy McMillan, Riley McMillan, Haven Hill & Camden Hill. Brother Norman Hayden and wife Connie, Concordia; brothers in law, Richard Harrington, Chandler, OK, Norman Andersen & Kenneth Sanford, Jamestown; sister in law, Jeannette Bergeson, Salina; the family friends who called her 'Mom', Dan Topliff & Monty Root and her close friend and former co-worker, Trisha Johnson Beggs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister Carolyn Hayden and sister, Connie Hayden Harrington; sister in law, Carolyn Sanford and brother in law, Gerald Bergeson.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM, Mon, June 13, 2011 at The Baptist Church, Concordia with Dr. Warren S. Freeborn, Jr. officiating.  Visitation will be from 12-8 PM with family greeting friends from 5-7 PM Sun, June 12, 2011 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.  Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.  The family suggests memorials to The Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
