Lois Horkman was born on May 19, 1930 in Concordia, KS to Arnold J. & Mary E. (Allen) Kersenbrock. She passed from this life on Wed., Dec. 9, 2009 at Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, KS at the age of 79. Lois graduated from Concordia High School. She was a receptionist for Dr. Porter until she married Milbern A. Horkman on June 25, 1950 at the First United Methodist Church, Concordia. She then was a homemaker. Lois was a member of the First United Methodist Church & enjoyed collecting butterfly & iris knick-knacks. She is survived by her husband: Milbern Horkman, Concordia, KS; sons: Steve Horkman & wife Shelly, Concordia, KS & John Horkman & wife Marjorie, Concordia, KS; daughters: Susan Craig & husband Stuart, Lafayette, CO & Daughter: Julie Cory & husband J.C., Concordia, KS; grandchildren: Jeromy Horkman & wife Liz, Lawrence, KS, Jenny Horkman, Kansas City, MO, Carly Horkman, Maxwell, NE, Chelsey Horkman, Concordia, KS, Ethan Cory, Concordia, KS, Erynn Cory, Concordia, KS, Emily Craig, Lafayette, CO & Bailey Craig, Lafayette, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Allen & Royal Kersenbrock & sisters, Mary Serviss & Dorothy Lowell. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Mon., Dec. 14, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church, Concordia with Rev. Sandra K. Moore officiating. Burial will follow the services at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia. Visitation will be held from 1-9 PM with the family greeting friends from 6-7 PM, Sun., Dec. 13, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
