Lola M. Gropp, age 96, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia.  She was born on Oct. 7, 1923 in Ames, KS to William M. and Alma L. (Smith) Trost.

She graduated from Concordia High School.  She married Don V. Gropp on June 22, 1945 in Concordia and he preceded her on Feb. 20, 1994.  She was a homemaker and assisted Don as a driver for the Eldorado Bus Corp. of Salina and on his semi-truck.  She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church (formerly E.U.B.) and attended Huscher United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Bill Gropp (Shirley), Concordia; daughters, Donna Strait (Renus), Tabor, SD, Mary Faulkner (Steve), Mt. Hope and Karen Lucas, Newcastle, WA; brother, D.D. Trost, Orange  City, IA; sisters, Evelyn Woolston, Boone, IA, Willo Harris, Whitefish, MT and Cynthia Ormston, Marshalltown, IA; grandsons, Lance Gropp, Vince Gropp, Ryan Strait, Joshua Faulkner, Trevor Gassler & Erik Gassler; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents; a great grandson, Kohl Gropp; brothers, Melvin, John & Keith Trost; a sister, Ruth Mulsow and son in law, Frank Lucas.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Concordia with Rev. Melanie Adams officiating.  Burial will follow at Nelson Center Cemetery, Huscher.  Visitation will be Monday, March 9, 2020 from 1-8 pm at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.  The family suggests memorials to Sunset Nursing Home in care of the funeral home.  For online condolences, please visit www.chaputbuoy.com.
