Lorena F. Crimmins was born on Sept. 11, 1911 in Clay Center, KS to Isaac and Minnie Fraelich Richardson. She passed from this life on Monday, August 18, 2008 at Mt. Joseph Senior Community in Concordia, KS at the age 96. She was a resident of Concordia since moving from Clay Center, KS in 1934. She graduated from Ottawa University. She married T. Edward Crimmins on May 27, 1946 in Wichita, KS. He preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 1951. She was a retired school teacher and had taught in schools in Germany. Prior to her marriage, she worked as a secretary at the POW Camp in Concordia. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the Altar Society, A.O. Chapter of P.E.O., the Improvement Club and the SSS Club. She loved to travel and visited a host of countries and places throughout the world. She is survived by her adopted family, Bernard Newell and wife Cynthia, Concordia, Brandon Newell, Kansas City, KS and Damon Newell, Houghton, KS and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. Edwards; parents; brother, C.V. Richardson; sister, R.A. Graber and a dear friend, Brenda Newell. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Friday, August 22, 2008 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Burial will follow the services at St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, KS. Visitation will be held from 9 AM to 9 PM Thurs, with an Altar Society Rosary at 5 PM and Vigil Services at 6:30 PM, Thurs., Aug. 21, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Notre Dame Scholarship Fund in memory of Lorena Crimmins or Meadowlark Hospice.
