Louis J. Creighton, Jr., age 73, formerly of Colby, Kansas, entered unto rest on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the Mitchell County Hospital, Beloit, Kansas.  He was born on January 29, 1949 in Waterloo, Iowa to Louis J. and Marie (Griggs) Creighton, Sr.

Louis grew up in the Waterloo, Iowa area.  He was a graduate of Black Hawk County High School.

After high school Louis served in the United States Army from 1969-1972 during the Vietnam War achieving the rank of SGT/SP-5 and was honorably discharged.

He attended a Technical College in Waterloo, IA and later Colby Community College, Colby, KS.

He was a cook and served in the hospitality industry for many years and most recently worked at the Pilot Truck Stop in Colby, Kansas.

Louis loved spending time with his children, family, friends and mostly his beloved dogs Matter and Cash.

Louis is survived by his daughter, E. Betty (Ebony) Morgan, Concordia, KS; daughter, Sunee Creighton, Colby, KS; 2 grandchildren, Morgan and Draiden Durham; 1 brother, Gary Patterson, Ft. Worth, TX; 4 sisters, Shelly Fisher, Davenport, IA; Christine Nash, Jackson, AL; Jacqueline Nixon, MS; Karla Creighton, Des Moines, IA; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Redrick Creighton and infant brother, Howard Creighton and sister, Lawana Creighton.

In lieu of a Visitation the family would like family and friends to remember Louis for his character and how he lived his life.

A Celebration of Life service will held at a later time and place.
