Louise Appleby was born on May 26, 1921 in Clyde, KS to Ralph & Velina (Menard) Fuller. She passed from this life on Monday, Nov. 30, 2009 at Mt. Joseph Senior Community, Concordia, at the age 88. Louise graduated from Clyde High School in 1939. She married Verle Appleby on Feb. 10, 1940 in Concordia, KS. He preceded her on Nov. 30, 1976. She later married Wendell Appleby on April 25, 1987 in Clyde, KS. He preceded her on March 28, 1995. Louise was a nurse's aid at St. Joseph Hospital, Concordia for many years and later worked for Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home as a chapel assistant. Louise was a member of the Catholic Church. She is survived by her sons: Gary Appleby & wife Patsy, Concordia, KS & Gail Appleby & wife Karen, Salina, KS; foster daughter: Cindy Appleby; son in law: Dan Fraser, Concordia, KS; 21 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren & 18 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Verle & Wendell; sons, Lee Edward & Terry Appleby; daughter, Barbara Fraser; parents; 1 brother; 4 sisters & 1 great great grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM, Thurs., Dec. 3, 2009 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia with Rev. Barry Brinkman officiating. Visitation will be from 9 AM to 9 PM with a Rosary at 6:30 PM, Wed., Dec. 2, 2009 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services at Pleasant View Cemetery, Ames, KS. The family will designate a memorial at a later date.
