Louise Alvina Hundley, 86, Concordia, KS, passed away from this life on Sunday January 20, 2008 at Autumn Care Nursing Facility, Virginia Beach, VA. Louise was born May 21, 1921 in Vliets, KS the daughter of the late Flavius and Leithia Smith Dierking and widow of John L. Hundley. She resided during her youth in the Good Intent area of Atchison County, KS. She attended public school in Atchison, KS. She married John Lawrence Hundley on June 7, 1938 in Holton, KS. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2002. She was a licensed cosmetologist having completed formal training in St. Joseph, MO and was employed for numerous years at the Cut-n-Curl Beauty Shop. John and Louise moved to Concordia in 1967 where she was employed at the J.C. Penny Store. She enjoyed her family, gardening, Eastern Star Activities, friends, and her mountain top cabin in St. Elmo, CO. She was a lifetime member of Order of Eastern Star, she became member on Nov. 26, 1946 and served as Worthy Matron, Leah Chapter #182- Concordia, and other positions within Order of Eastern Star which included Star Point (Electa). She also received Grand Appointment to Eastern Star Registration Committee from 1987-1988. She was a member or the First United Methodist Church, Concordia. Left to cherish her memory are her five children:Daughter: Linda Teichmann & hus Roy, Lawrence, KS; Son: Robert Hundley & wife Sharon, Netawaka, KS; Son: John Hundley & wife Linda, Virginia Beach, VA; Son: Roger Hundley & wife Moni, Las Vegas, NV; Son: Keith Hundley & wife Charlotte, Leadville, CO; Sister: Berniece Gentry, Atchison, KS; 15 Grandchildren; and 29 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her h usband- John L. Hundley, 1 grandson, sister- Fern Parker, and her parents. Funeral services will be at 10:00AM, Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church, Concordia, Kansas with the Rev. Sandra k. Moore officiating. Visitation will be from 10AM to 9PM Monday, January 28, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:30PM to 8PM. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas. The family suggests memorials be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children- 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
