Obituary

Loy Eldon Stolzenburg was born September 14, 1922 in Rural Clyde, Kansas to Paul Franklin and Vesta Resco Stolzenburg.  He passed away from this life on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at St. Francis Regional Medical Center at the age of 85. He attended Clyde Country School. He married Ellen DeWitt in April 23, 1947. This last year they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He was a truck driver for C & G and Quartzite Stone Company and was a farmer. He loved to play his electric steel guitar. He loved to farm, old tractors, Louis L' Amour books and most of all his grandkids. He is survived by his wife Ellen, of the home; sons: Don Stolzenburg and wife Lana of Ames, Kansas; Jim Stolzenburg and wife Marymar, Clifton, Kansas; Grandchildren: Jay Stolzenburg and wife Susan, Salina, Kansas; Mark Stolzenburg and wife Michelle, McPherson, Kansas; Kellea Smith and husband Mark, Minneapolis, Kansas; Tonya Hanson and husband Hans, Concordia, Kansas; Devin, Tristan, Sabrina, and Desi'ree Stolzenburg, Ames, Kansas; 12 great grandchildren; 3 sisters: Doris McCall, New Cambria, Kansas; Markeeta Keiner, Ames, Kansas; Elaine Smith, Naples, TX and Lois Shotwell, Salina, Kansas.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother- Max Elvin Stolzenburg.  Services will be at 2:00PM Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Rev. L. Dean Thompson officiating.  Visitation will be from 9AM to 9PM Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6-8PM.  Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Clyde, Kansas.  Family suggests memorials to Life Star Medical Helicopter Services in care of the Funeral Home.
